Sudden, unexplained diarrhea? Could be giardia! This parasite is common in our area and is water-borne. Discourage your dog from drinking from streams, rivers and irrigation ditches, especially during high run-off periods. See your vet with a stool specimen.
If you know for sure that it is not giardia, try Laurie's Slipper Elm Sludge recipe to help diarrhea or constipation.
Dissolve 1 Tbsp Slippery Elm Bark Powder in 1/4 C boiling water, stir, then add 1/4 C aloe vera juice (from the inner fillet leaves - it will say that on the bottle. Add 30 drops liquid chlorophyll, stir.
Keep in the fridge.
Dosage isn't too critical -- 1/2 tsp for a cat up to 1 Tbs for a big dog, in food, once or twice a day.
